Nanomesh and Checkerboard

I created a new nanomesh brush and made the polygroup checkboard. However, when I apply the nanobrush, it is targeting all polygons. What am I doing wrong?

I did try a basic sphere and that worked just fine.

Hello @FierceMuppet ,

If you have a checkerboard of two alternating polygroups, then the target selection for the nanomesh brush should be set to “Polygroup All”. This will draw out nanos on all instances of that specific polygroup in the subtool when you draw out a nano on one of the polygons. This is different from “All Polygons”, which will target all the polygons in the subtool.

If this doesn’t work as I have described, there may be some sort of issue with your mesh geometry. It’s possible you have overlapping or non visible surfaces contributing to your results.

I did a dynamesh and it must have fixed the issue. It works now.
