Naked Spider (or, "We Must All Start Somewhere")

Here’s my first “real” test with ZBrush. I found it to be quite therapeutic, honestly. There’s just something about molding and mushing polygons…

Anyhow, the base mesh was created in XSI 4 and exported to ZBrush for detailing. The render was done in XSI (without hair, as the title suggests) using Daniel Rind’s Dirtmap. The final model has hair shrouding all of the detail in the mesh itself, so this will forever remain just an experiment in ZBrushing.

I’m constantly amazed and bewildered by the work you guys (and girls) do, so I’m a little shy…I’ll now go back into hiding.

Don’t hide…ya did a fantastic job on that spider!!

a little to realistic for this old nut who hates spiders almost as much as i hate snakes.

And on top of that you get an A++ for an original message title!

Have happy Zbrushing!

Ps Of course your Tarantula is awesome

Thank you!

Since you mention it, I actually had to overcome my arachnophobia for this particular project.

Good rendering and good spider … i think you can do a great rendering in Zbrush as well…and you can create real subtle effects with the Zbrush fiber-brush !

Ah, nice tip. Thanks!
