My Second work. Dinosaur

hi!

here is my second ever work in ZBrush.
Actualy, I have allmost no experience in an other 3D application,
and I’m only 15 years old, so take those in mind when commenting

I used Zbrush and Photoshop. the model and the ground it’s standing on is in ZBrush, and the background is a real image composited in Photosop.

it took me too much time polishing everything in photoshop
so I wont be able to post more angles.

and with that said:

Hi there. Nice start. Keep your eye on the anatomy and form, and take your time. Again nice start, and look forward to seing mroe from you, keep posting.

Thanks! I will.

Have any more tips for me? ^^

Thanks! any more comments?

Very nice start. Are you working from reference images of a specific dinosaur? Your own design?

The back legs I think look the best part, including the feet and it’s the main body which I think needs a little extra work getting the right form.

But aside from that, it’s better than what I could do at 15. To be honest, I wasn’t even using ZBrush at 15. :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks! There’s no reference or blueprint or cocept art work or anything like that, it’s all made mt design, without even looking at dinosaur anatomy pictures.

Ah okay. Even when you are creating something from your own design if it’s a good idea to gain a basic understanding of how what you’re basing it off works. It helps you develop something that can actually work if it were alive.

I think the main thing after looking at it a bit more is that the tail seems to be originating from the further up the spine than it should. So rather than looking like it’s a continuation of the spine it looks like it’s coming out of the spine. Hope that helps. =)

For a piece of work with no reference it’s still quite good though. I always find when I try to do something completely from mind it ends up looking completely different because, for some reason, I think it looks different than it is in my head. xD

When you learn anatomy, and the mechanics of movment, then what is in the mind gets built from a common set of anatominc rules weather that be Human or animal.

I found, and am still am finding that the more I understand anatomy and superficial muscle and Fat, the more rythem and mass makes sence to the eye. Once your 100% shure on what goes where, and why, with the relation to the scale or from, you wont have to do any random hinting at form that dont need to be there, but will be more consistant with every stroke.
