These images are very powerful! I would persoanlly like to see them with different materials or textured, very nice
You are showing great progression of your ZSkills. The last bust is coming along very nicely. Time to turn off symetry
Keep posting.
Heres a polypaint try
Good volumes on these sculpts. The progression as someone else pointed out is very good. imo, if you could turn down the saturation of the last sculpt a bit it would work much better.
Great work
But whats more annoying is modellling from a cube in maya, so ill have to cope with bad topology for now.
Here is a torso WIP
Heres a vampire head.
In dire need of Crits!
Some exposed fangs would be nice if its a vampire. I think the eyes are too large for it to look frightening too. The anatomy is quite good, but the details are very symmetric. I think you should turn of symmetry and adjust the wrinkles so that they are different on either side. You could probably add some volume to the forehead wrinkles with the clay brush, and smooth off the ends so it blends into the forehead.
I like that your calling this your progression thread. One can definitely see the improvement in your works. The vampire looks very nice, yet stylized. I’d suggest focusing more on the basics. Working more from reference and avoiding too much detailing. It’s very easy to get wrapped up in working on details and miss the major forms and proportions. Those overall shapes and forms may not seem as interesting as the ones found inbetween them, but they are ultimately much more important to the final piece. Also, don’t forget to draw. Draw, draw, DRAW!! Sketching is easier, faster and will get you to a point of understanding much quicker than modeling.
BTW
VFS seems to be an outstanding school in the field. I’m sure they’ll point you in the right direction. Good luck getting in!
wombat- id love to expose the fangs, but this is a zsphere and im not sure how id go about doing that. As for breaking symmetry, im guilty for making the models look too symmetrical for sure, your not the 1st to say that, its something i need to keep in mind. thank you so much for your much needed advice.
J lizzle- yes i definatley got overzealous on the details, and i didnt use proper reference, funny how you could see that. and yeah ur right, i need to get my butt back to drawing, thats probably what ill do all week. Thanks for the advice and the crits! I only hope VFS will accept me
On that note, does anyone know if i may be VFS material? Im really hoping to get in and it would be cool to talk to someone who has been through the program.
Here is a mental ray render showing my lack of discapline (lol i should stick to sculpting i know)
I know the design is boring, but im stilll learning facial anatomy.
Critisism is very appreciated in this little Zdoodle
