My Little Pocket PC 3D Application (Update 04/05/2004)

Since I’ve found the Pocket PC to be lacking in 3D graphics applications, except for two, YASRT and Blender ver 2.04, I thought I’d start working on a Pocket PC 3D graphics application of my own.

I used Pocket GCC for the compiler.

As of now, the only thing it does is output a cube in *.obj format, but it’s my first step in getting the program to output something somewhat useful. It has no renderer or GUI as of yet. Here’s a screenshot of my “interface” right now, LOL.

Here’s a rendering of my output file in ZBrush:

…and the cube *.obj file.

Nothing too spectactular or amazing, but I’m pretty proud of myself for getting this far.

Hi WindgedOne i congratulate you for this very helpful tool, at this moment is a cube but as i can see more object are coming soon¡ and if we think in face mesh model like prototype to allow star from a model and not from patch?¡¡¡
Congratulations and thanks for share your creativity¡¡

I don’t know this model!
There is nothing around the interface ?

Very Impressive Winged. :grimacing:  :+1:

Hi WingedOne,
very nice :+1: :+1: :+1: …when the next version.

cameyo

LOL @ Cameyo…next version…haha

Hey WingedOne just remember all of us “little people” when you make it to the “big times” :+1: :+1: :insert gratuitous support:

OHHHH WIngedone. You actually made a 3D app for a handheld?? YOU ARE DA MAN!!

Too bad for me. I’m stuck on a Zire 71/palmOS.

-Dooki :frowning:

Here’s an update on my progress. I added an octahedron, pyramid, and plane primitives as well as the ability to scale, rotate and position primitives.

Next, I’ll have to work on adding proper menus and at least a wireframe renderer so I can see what I’m doing when I’m putting a scene together.

Rendered in ZBrush 2.0 since my application doesn’t have rendering capabilities yet.

Hi Winged,
can you post a screenshot of your palm-application?
I like this sort of things.

Thank you for share.

There’s a screenshot on the first post in this thread. Not much to look at yet. When I have an actual GUI, I’ll post another screenshot.

Heh… I’ll have to keep my eye on this one

hehehe I just saw this and thought what a cool idea…then realized it’s a month old so I thought I would annoy you and see how you are coming along with it? or if you have moved on to bigger and better things?

Still working on it.

I’ll post some more screenshots when my wireframe orthographic rendering code can render the top, side and front views properly without looking like a mass of spider-webs.

Great Wingedone !!!

cameyo

Cool, look forward to it.

Here’s some screenshots of the interface. Turns out that instead of one thing being wrong with my orthographic rendering code, there were five things wrong , but I got them all sorted out.

Shown is as top view, right side view and front view.

Looking good. What are you coding this in?

I’m currently coding it in Pocket GCC (where I can compile right on the Pocket PC), but there will probably be times, that I’ll be using Microsoft Embedded Visual C++ as well on my desktop computer.

thats pretty darned amazing, don’t know anything about coding so i am in awe
