Okay, so I’m going to draw heat for what I’m about to say…
First I should say I’ve lived with a beautiful and intelligent woman for over 30 years, and yes, I am also an artist. But, Chris old buddy, somebody has confused you…
Naked women, chained to walls aren’t erotic, it’s sado-masochistic. Your work, as usual is up to a high standard, but I question your judgement.
I don’t object to this being here…I’m just saddened by the negative vibes this produces in me, because I love women, and chains don’t figure in my lovemaking.
Having said that, the work itself is well executed, although I’m not a fan of pre-packaged figures or textures.
I would ask that people who wish to ‘vent’ do it to me personally and not clog up the forum with vituperative rhetoric…This is only my opinion, I’ll take the heat.

Assuming you haven’t finished it, I’ll just say it’s balanced. The font fits.
It’s Daz’s chic and texture, so I won’t comment on her.
I’m assuming the wall is supposed to be soft looking considering the soft porn. So I’ll just say, it’s the right color for erotica.
The sword is well done. And the hand placement around the sword is quite well done. It’s hard to get poser hands to “grab” correctly.
Course, If I was a naked chic chained up like a dog, I’d be USING that sword on the person who put the chain on me.
If you post in Renderosity, I’d put it under the Poser heading.
One thought you may want to consider as you go forward. Mag or book covers need to make some sort of sense. They need to create a believeable event within one frame (which is why they are so freaken hard)
It might be more sensual if she were free of the chain with it in bits at her feet, leaning over the sword looking up through strands of wet hair (sweaty after chopping on her confines)
What she is looking at we don’t know, but she seems pleased enough…

well i haven’t herd or seen anyone being chained up in all my life at least not on the news i haven’t.
only place you might see some one being chained up would be for pleasure and you might beable to see that on the Jerry springer show.

ok the sword looks real good even love how it shadow off her arm that looks cool you do have a tad bit of a glow on the tip of the sword that looks like the glow needs to be all on 1 side.
ok the choker or collar love the spikes on it and the thickness.

Hey, Christos. I posted a reply last night but it doesn’t seem to be here today. Don’t withdraw this from the forum. It’s cool and I’m glad you posted it. I think Kathy was right on the money with the chain thing. If you would like any more observations, you might want to use the dodge and burn tools in Photoshop to bring out a little more contrast and detail on the collar and chains, to bring them to “life” a bit more, as the girl is well lit. Are you happy with the overall look of the chain?
Overall, a very nice piece that should, refined just a BIT more, suit it’s purpose quite well!

Didn’t know it was S and M. I was under the impression it was erotica.
If it’s S and M. You may want to crank the tone up a bit and put some more chains around or on her, and possibly a shadow of a large male figure cast on her and the wall behind. (We all know that a visual of overpowerment is what they like).
Also, if she is the “slave”, she wouldn’t have a sword. It’s not part of the game to give her the empowerment.
I’m just being technical, but accurate. A chain collar does not an S and M graphic make. S and M is a concert of emotions playing on power, control, and tension. There aren’t any of those in this pick. When getting a commision for work, it is always wise to research the industry you are catering to, this again is only advise from someone who has made a living in graphics. I certainly respect your work, and I think you are quite capable of succeeding.
I am also sure you would like repeat business. So constructive criticism from people who may know more than you is, of course, an asset.

Just a brief note to clarify my position…
My statement was not critical of Chris, the forum, the morality of S/M…I’m old enough not to be shocked or otherwise freaked out by anything…
Just regretted the negativity of one person being chained by another, that’s all. Art to me has emotional content or it isn’t art…
Given that precept, what emotional content does this project? A simple question to contemplate:
How would you feel if it was your daughter or wife or mother chained to that wall? Would a personal connection to the victim, and we are obviously talking victim here, change your response?
Why is it okay for someone we don’t know to be chained there?
I was 20 in 1967, so that could tell you what a guy whose favourite band was Frank Zappa and the Mothers, might be involved in then…I’m not a prude, the nudity didn’t bother me, but Chris an artist, as your tag-line says is a thinking being. I questioned your judgement, I may have been wrong to do that, but I did. I still do.
BTW: I trained as a Psychiatric Nurse, Chris, so don’t automatically assume superiority in a clinical debate.
