I like dogs. Over the years I have sculpted a lot of dogs. Here is one of my attempts to recreate in zBrush pieces I originally made in steel in the mid 1990s. The original Spot is made of a freon can, scrap sheet steel, EMT (electromechanical tubing), steel washers and doll’s eyes. Spot, Surprised is what my dogs used to look like whenever they heard me rustle a potato chip bag on top of the fridge, or if I rattled the bells on their leashes. The first two photos are of the steel originals, liberally splashed with sign painters’ enamels. The next four photos are of the zBrush re creation.
