Somebody knows this book : House of leaves by Mark Z Danielewski

Must? No.
But - at a time where the reading of books seems not to “be in” anymore: YES!! As long as you’re shelves can stand the weight of just another one - there are very few books out that can really do harm, so I would start reading.
Just imagine: if - one day not that far away - some statistics say “STOP, selling books will earn no money anymore!” - what will we do then? NO books - a horror vision!!

Hi Ze
I have take this book at my library
So not in the commercial distribution
And than it’s seems a very special book I ask some advices around
(700 pages is not a little thing
Pilou
Ps And it’s very intrigating !
House seems more bigger inside than out side !!! Crazzy thing indeed

well, read 10 or 50 pages and see if you are still interested or if you like the “flavor” – no obligation to finish it – actually, it’s up to the author to make those 700 pages worth your while

Hi havran
In fact I research somebody who have read it for have bad or good advice
If I see the forum above it’s seems a sideral magic book
So I enlarge my advice
Pilou

hey Frenchy and others who might be interested,

I do understand that you are asking especially for the opinions of the folk here – listeners, seers, filters, makers, shapers, composers and wildflowers  – rather than reading the reviews of Amazon customers – no disrespect intended to anyone

of course the real magicians follow a code of secrecy

but, if it’s a book of magical secrets, or really any book, then it is still a matter of timing and personal resonance – that really needs some emphasis :ex:

there might be a timing trick involved where this is the wrong time for you to read it, but you are keeping it out of the hands of someone else who especially should not read it now

btw, I had considered this book about a year ago, but I have a house full of unread or partially read books – I had no idea that “House of Leaves” has a forum … hmmm …

I’m not sure that magic can be learned from a book – if I have any afterthoughts, a cat-owl will deliver a letter with a fluorescent-green wax seal

my Arcturan friends tell me that sidereal magic and of course astrology only work on Earth, because if you travel too far elsewhere, the trigonometry messes everything up

btw, I do understand about committing to a 700 page book – when I was a young man, people knew how to write 200 or 300 page novels – and now I have doubts about committing two hours to a movie

so in summary, only “you-now” can tell yourself whether this is worth your time at present – maybe spend an hour or two flipping page to page – if the suspense of the story is not your primary interest, then you will be able to see whether a closer reading will be worthwhile

but isn’t it funny that mobile organic critters might evolve on a random planet to concern themselves with these matters?

and another btw: if you must ask, then no – although someone else will probably tell you to skip pages 250-300, and read page 17 three times, but on separate days

Hi Havran
Sorry for the “magic” and “sideral”
I was too speed
Listen more as “amazing” and “incredible”
I suppose that there are no magic or stars space inside
Sorry again for my missunderstanding language !
Pilou

hahah, that’s okay – you made me write a book

And I read it without advice
