Multi Map Exporter Help Needed

Hi All, i started experimenting with zbrush.

For 3d modelling I have blender, I exported a very simple object with uv maps to .obj.

Now I added some details to it and use the multi map exporter. No matter what I do I can’t get it to save the files (that is says it saved: “All maps created and exported”).

There’s no error and no files?

I already recreated the uv’s in blender and exported again, but it makes no difference.

Does anybody have an idea what I’m doing wrong?

Thanks!

EDIT: Still trying, I found I can’t export anything from zbrush. I created a basic polymesh3d cube and tried exporting it to an obj. The same thing happends. It says it’s done exporting but no file is created.

(I’m on OSX)

What version of ZBrush are you using? And when you try to export an OBJ direct from ZBrush, what steps are you taking?

Hi Marcus, this is version 2019.1.2 .

1: Create a PolyMesh 3D (Start)
2: To edit mode.
3: Initialize to cube.
4: ZPlugin -> MultiMap exporter
5: Disable: Displacement
6: Enable: Export Mesh
7: Leave eport options default
8: Create all maps
9: Choose export location in file dialog where to store .obj
10: Click save

Dialog appears to say everything is exported. Nothing happened, no files.

Hi,

Many thanks, that’s useful.

The Multi Map Exporter plugin will skip any subtool that doesn’t have UVs, as your example doesn’t. Clearly this shows up a bug if all you want to do is export an OBJ but the plugin is primarily designed for map export, for which UVs are essential.

If you want to export an OBJ regardless of UVs then you can use the Tool>Export button for a single subtool, or the SubTool Master plugin has an Export function for exporting visible subtools.

HTH,
Marcus
