most stupid question of the forum about polipaint issue :( [Answered]

Hi guys… it’s so embarassing for somebody who is an expert in 3d studio…to make such stupid questions…
I have created an object…simply polypainted it with rgb…exported the obj… but lost then my polypianting… which steps must i do …if later i open again zbrush…import the object …and to be able to have the same situation like before closing the software…
I read something about UV’s…that they are neccessary…but also that one is totaly unclear for the amount of buttons…additionally I made an dynamesh which for some reason gives probles for not having lower subdiv…

I understood that if I save a FILE it is exactly how I left it…but as fioe size much bigger than an exported obj file…

sorry…please help :frowning:

If you want to keep file sizes down then save your model using the Tool>Save As button and save as a ZTL file. Do that for every model in the Tool palette that you wish to save. The ZTL format will save subdivision levels and polypaint. OBJs can include polypaint but ZBrush does not read it back in. You will also loose subdivision levels with OBJ.

Files saved using the File>Save As button are ZBrush Projects. These will save all the models in the Tool palette. Undo History can also be saved with the project file; this can make the files very large. You can turn off saving undo history by turning off the Preferences>Undo History>Enable Saving switch (remember to store the configuration by pressing Shift+Ctrl+i).
