Most popular Photogrammetry software options to use with Zbrush?

Hi Everyone,

I’m researching what would be the best Photogrammetry software for me to use with Zbrush. My goal is to use the Photogrammetry software to create a 3d model from a bunch of pictures I took of an object, then import the resulting 3d model into Zbrush so I can manipulate it further (such as add texture, manipulate its shape and ideally do pretty much anything to it that I could have if I had sculpted the object from scratch in Zbrush to begin with ).

So far Agisoft.com’s Metashape (aka Photoscan) software seems like a great option, but I’m a bit overwhelmed at how many other options are out there (such as the ones in this list https://all3dp.com/1/best-photogrammetry-software/ ) and which ones work best with Zbrush.

Any suggestions form the Zbrush community on which Photogrammetry software options are most widely used with Zbrush would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

I dont have any opinions on specific software, but I will give you a heads up on a potential issue. Photogrammetry tends to produce meshes that are…less than ideal. If your plan is to enhance this sort of geometry in Zbrush, then you will need to have a solid understanding of how to clean up problematic geometry in the program, which will require you to understand a variety of mesh editing features and fundamentals.

The reality is you may at times end up doing more work on these meshes to get them into a usable state, than if you have simply created them from scratch. So be certain to be comfortable with that, and with the various methods in Zbrush you might use to correct issues.
