Morph Target option lost, part 2

Hi I’m still fairly new to zbrush and am running into a hair pulling issue. This is a similiar but different problem to something in a post here http://www.zbrushcentral.com/zbc/showthread.php?t=25598&highlight=morph+target

1. I started my project by importing an obj with UVs from an external package (Maya). At subdiv level 1 I stored a morph target.

2. I did some tweaks at level 1, then subdivided to level 2 and refined more (just for clarity, at no pont did I click switch Morph Target)

3. I saved the ztool out a couple different iterations. Then subdivided the mesh. I think I might have saved the tool out at level 2 instead of at level 1 - could this have caused the problem?

4. Then things get alittle strange. I remember subdividing the mesh again, but after looking at my file I noticed instead of there being a level 3 now I have only 2 levels of subdivision, and my lowest level is no longer there, what was level 2 became level 1. AND, when I retrurn to level 1, the only morph target option I have is “delMT”. So if i go to level 1 and import my original obj from Maya, (since my level 1 has somehow been replaced by a higher poly level two) it has more polys than original mesh and it wont import.

I hope I am being clear on this post. It is probably something I goofed up on I’m sure, but I really want to finish this project so I hope someone can help me get through this.
Thanks!

This is the first that I’ve heard of such a thing happening, but it’s possible that saving the model at level 2 may have been involved. On the other hand, it’s also possible that at one point while you were changing subdivision levels you accidentally clicked the Delete Lower button.

As for the morph target, there’s no need to store one if you’re using an imported mesh.

Hey abnoid -

I agree with Aurick. chances are you deleted lower level of resolution by pressing “del lower”.

Try going down to level 1 and pressing “reconstruct subdiv”. This may give you back your first level of resolution.

If it does, go down to level one. Store a morph. Import your old mesh (not sure if this will work but I have a hunch.)

cheers,
