Morph Brush

Hi,
when go down to Level1 to use the Morph Brush the Mesh gets to his orginal form. But then when i step up to the highest level all the sculpted stuff is still there.

Can i not remove this with the Morph Brush ???

Thanks, Sticky

No, you can’t. The reason is that adjusting level 1 makes broad changes to the mesh. That’s the whole point of multi-res editing. For example, if you had a dragon where you’d sculpted a bunch of details for scales and stuff before you suddenly decide you’d like the jaws to be longer. By going to level 1 you can accomplish this change by moving just a few points. Back at max level, all the details will have moved to fit the change.

So edits at level 1 don’t remove changes at max level. They move those changes.

In order for the morph brush to be able to be used to remove details, you’d need to store a morph target at the level where the details are, before you sculpt them.

Another option is to create a layer before you sculpt the details. Then if you don’t like them you can delete the layer. You can also adjust its intensity to make the details stronger or lighter. Layers are your friend!

Glad you ask: here is the trick.

1-Go to your highest and create a new layer. (I hope your layers were on your highest otherwise you have to go to the level they were and collapse them(delete with eyeicon on) SORRY. 2-Go back to level 1 where your original form is. 3-Press Delete Higher. 4-Subdivide back to the level of your highest ---------Surprise!The layer is still there! 5-Press Store Morph Target 6-Uncheck the Eyeicon on the layer 7-You can now Use the Morph brush to restore your highest back to the original form

and bypass the info stored on each subd levels.

thanks for the trick,
works perfect
