More art by Kris Nowak?

On Pixologic’s download page the Banner contains a beautiful work of art by Chris Nowak. Where can I find more works by this artist? I did a google, searched zbrushcentral, and came up with nothing.

Does anyone know anything about this artist, and if he has a gallery or portfolio online?

I really love his style.

Edit;
I guess it would help it they got the name right, would have made the google search easier; it is : Krzysiek Nowak
(according to the cgtalk post)banner2s.jpgicon2.jpg

Thats the link to the author’s work at cgtalk. He doesn’t seem to have anything else in his portfolio, but you could probably ask him about it…

I know something
He’s Polish, AKA barton_fink, living in UK I suppose - this work is actually called “One day flower” and was done for gfx battle on polish cg vortal http://www.max3d.pl/ where gained a first prize

I don’t know nothing about his portfolio however I am just now sending him PM about you and that thread - if he likes to - he will answer in here I guess

stay sharp,

Thanks Fess and miztli. I’ll keep a lookout.

I also really enjoyed that image… possibly the most complete image and unique style I’ve seen done with this program yet

That looks great.

I did some mulling around and I found his challenge page on a polish 3d site. I tried to translate some of the posts to find out what renderer he used, or what plugin was used to get that line quality.b&w shaded render that you see on this link…

But was unable to get much info. Hopefully he can shed some light on it.

The tread does not have too much step by step stuff. Just a few postings.

But the stuff is amazing.

Well - author knows already about that thread and I am sure that will not just leave it like it is (I hope so hahaha) In polish forum he said that is preparing “making of” for that piece so just keep on checking

Since I know barton from max3d myself I wanted to link you some other stuff, but apparently his website containtin all his previous work is down.

So… You just have to wait for him to get here  I`ll drop him a line about that

Hello ,

Hi everyone.

I’m really surprised (and happy of course) that people like my work so much.

I’m afraid that I will not show anything of my old work. Reason is very simple: there is notching on same level

Like for me this image is beginning of my new portfolio. I don’t want to destroy good first impression.

Hope you understand

There will be making off very soon so stay tuned  - it should explain everything about my toon technique.

Cheers

love the artwork. Very nice style and great colors.

Must be a first that somebody made the top row without actually posting anything!

Great work, Chris. I look forward to seeing more.

I thought the same thing. I was actually surprised to find this thread in the top row. Not because the image wasn’t good enough, but because he hadn’t posted it himself.

Anyhow. Excellent image! The detail level is amazing and the mood is just lovely:D

Henning

Yep thats got to be some sort of record, getting top row without ever posting it yourself. He should get a special gold star for that. (Thats when you KNOW an image is good, when it gets top row all by itself. ) Great image be interesting to see some more of his stuff.

Wayne…

My thought, too, marcus. Saw it on the top row and blinked-- I had just come from pixologic.com, where it appears as a banner. It must be Ryan’s post here.

edit:
d’oh! sorry, acmepixel, I just read your post saying the same… guess I should start reading ZBC from the top. slowly.

=dp

It’s refreshingly nice work BlackEyE !
Wow…look at all the details…mmmmmm…love it

Hi, BlackEye.

Very nice illustration. I for one and very much looking forward to your ‘how-to’ tutorial.

~S.~

 …good job…

I cannot imagine at that the whole scene is completely done in ZBrush! I mean, if it is a scene?

It looks like that the “Scene” has a multiplicity of layers! Is it possible in ZBrush that one object on a rear layer, throws a realistic shadow over an object witch is on a layer before it?

Does anybody knows that, or is it “only” a completely painted Image, that is done with ZBrush 3.1?

However, the details and the small Toon-like clear Lines are simply awesome !!!

alieneye…

Im not positive, but i think that he just did some of the modeling like the hair, cape… wagon wheels… etc in Zbrush. It looks like he did an initial pass in Max or Maya…

Look at the link i posted on page 1 from another thread that has some of his earlier passes.

I love this piece! It has such artistic flare to it.
