Can you post some different views? It’s kind of tough to see everything that’s going on from this angle.

There’s good detail on this guy. I think you could improve the pose of the ant, right now he’s kind of just standing there. It would be cool to see him in some kind of fierce attack pose or something. Also, I’d like to see the feet resolved in a little more interesting way, right now they kind of just end in points, insect feet have little clawlike ends. Go find some insect reference on Google images!

For wet skin, I’m not sure how you would do that in Zbrush, it may be a problem easier solved in Maya or Max with some shader work. For hairs, probably the same, the closest thing I can think of to tiny hairs in Zbr is the snakehook brush, but it kind of just pulls out geometry, which probably isn’t the best solution for hairs, especially the tiny hairs im thinking you want on this guy. Keep up the good work!

THX alot for the advice mate
ill see what i can do for it’s stance and the texture
i already thought of making some spikes behind the legs… that would look a bit more fiercely as u said

EDIT: IS THIS NORMAL?!?! my posts took ages until they were released? are they being checked first? plz tell me i would like to know

well… now he has kinda fighting stance… its not that great but its better than before^^ i increased the reflection and now it has some kind of wet effect:) now i need a good texture and HAIRS :stuck_out_tongue:

I see you did the Digital Tutors ZShpere tutorial. Looks pretty good.
In the future you should probably give credit to the creators of the tutorial and inspirations for your works.

@jaystein777 well i didnt really see the digital tutors tutorial… but i saw an image of how it was going to look like… and i just said to myself: hey let me trie this one it looks pretty “hard”^^
but ye u noticed well, the idea of this ant is not realy mine^^

I actually did the tutorial myself

wow very nice mate  ill definetly try out the tutorial
ive seen alot of digital tutors… they are dam good

As for the wet texture or hair part, yes, maya or max would probably be the best way, or if you want to go lincence-free, use blender probably broke some unwritten law on these forums right there, but who cares

for the pose, if you want a really fierce pose, watch the music video for the german band/song “Rammstein - Links 2 3 4”, it shows a colony of ants in synchronization and at war… there’s a scene about 2:20 into the video, where one ant kind of stimulates the billions of other ants to fight back at the bugs that attacked the neighbor colony. Look at the way the one ant moves up it’s antennae and the others do the same… that’s the kind of aggressive behavior you’ll want to aim for… no idea if this suggestion made any sense, but keep at it and post your future progress  good luck

@Elvaron THX for the advice man  ill try making it in 3ds max  and great tip with the rammstein video! thx alot lets see how it will look like

the digital tutors ant video for zbrush zsphere’s is a great training pak…good to see your version of their model here:+1:
