Downloaded this from emusic.com a week or two ago and it has stayed in my CD player and in my head since then – a long time since an album did that
Mogwai fear Satan!
Best Scottish band ever, saw them live a few years back supporting Urusei Yatsura and the Delgados.
The soundscapes the create are amazing.
You should check out Chemical Underground records..
Although I don’t think they are on this label anymore.
Their other (great) albums:
Mogwai Young Team
Come on Die Young
Ten Rapid
Cool
(I quite like their music!)
Mik
LOL! thanks Mik!
will check out those albums and web sites
a semi-local band you might like is Macha (two of the guys are from just outside Gainesville FL, though they are now based in Athens, Georgia)
when their precursor band [Emperor Moth] played in town I would go to every show I could – it’s sad that more of that material is not on CD [lead guitar with vocals, electric viola, both a drummer and a percussionist, very polyrhythmic and soaring] – and then they visited Indonesia to absorb the gamelan influence etc. – I bought extra copies of their albums to lend out – somewhat enthusiastic about them
(Macha is/are on JetSet records, which is ultimately owned by Vivendi Universal, so their albums are also on emusic.com)
