Modo

I currently use Modo for modeling with poser, deeppaint and some other apps.
I am really considering buying Zbrush now especially with the soon to be released 3.0 Is their anybody out there using Modo as their modellng program and if so what seem to be the concensus regarding compatibility?
This is my first post and am happy to see a wealth of information on this site. Also before I forget…I use msntv (webtv) and can’t download anything (I keep my computer offline for various reasons). Would I be at a major disadvantage in investing in Zbrush since I can’t receive upgrades or plug-ins?

Thanx in advance

Modo is able to inport several file formats. One of them is OBJ. Zbrush is able to export to OBJ. I’ve used both together, they work perfectly together. The only issue is the need to flip the UV texture.

And yes, being unable to download anything is a major disadvantage. Not just for Zbrush and getting textures, alpha masks, Zscripts, Zplug-ins, and that’s just Zbrush. I’m not even touching all the stuff you can get with Adobe PhotoShop.

Many tutorials are also available as download only.
If you would use ZoneAlarm from Zonelabs then there is little to fear from the internet. But all that’s your decision. Not being online is a major disadvantage.

Compatibility with modo is great. I go back and forth using the OBJ format. I love modelling in modo then adding all the high frequency details with ZBrush. Then I save out my displacment map and render everything back in modo. I did this illustration in modo and ZBrush
