Modelling for Poser 4 (Nudity)

i know that a lot of people use modelling programs like rhino, etc to make clothing and such for their poser 4 people…i wondered if anyone is making them in zbrush.

from the tutorials i’ve read, it seems you export the body part you are making something from and model around it…is there a way to do this in zbrush? i know how to import the poser body part, but don’t know how i’d be able to model around it to export for use in poser.

don’t know if i’m making sense, but any help is greatly appreciated!

I haven’t tried it yet, but what I would do is import the figure that you wish to model clothes for and show him or her on the canvas from several points of view (Top, Side, Front, Isometric).

Next, I’d use ZSpheres to build a “cage” around the figure, moving it from one viewpoint to another as necessary. Since each sphere is given a different group when skinned, you can use that to your advantage here to create spheres for the chest, each collar, each shouleder, etc. When you have built the basic shape (previewing as necessary by pressing A), you can then use adaptive skinning to create a low poly mesh, ready to be refined for a better fit.

well, that sounds a bit complex for a newbie like me, but i will give it a try…thank you so much for your help…i don’t suppose i could pursuade you to make me a zscript with a sample of whatcha mean?? wink

thanks, matthew! ;o)

Maby this link help you. http://www.southerngfx.co.uk/general/tutorials/tutorial.htm

thanks, that is helpful…i will give the cloth thing a try, but i’m looking to make clothing that are “tailor fit” to my poser people…i’ve got amapi3d and i’ve been trying to learn that, but i just love zbrush better than any other program, so i was hoping to be able to design their clothing within zee.

but, i’m going to play around with zsperes a bit more, and see if i can’t come up with something ;o)

okay, i just made this little piece of cloth in like 5 minutes…WOOHOOOOOOOOOO…i think the key for me is using the plane3d tool…wow, zee just rocks! ;o)

i think i’ll pull this into poser, make it really big, and use it as a backdrop…W :o :o EEE, i’m on my way! ;o)

Moving on, looks good…

well, here’s what i came up with…i imported that little cloth model into poser…moved it around, got it to look like it was draped over my character, and postworked it…this is the beginning of a very cool thing for me!!!

i realize the final image is heavy poser/postwork outside of zee, but my point here is i modelled something USEFUL in zeeeeeeeeeeee!! woohoo! thanks all for your help! ;o)

Congratulations looks great that would make a great backdrop in poser too.

See you used it as a front-drop as well. And that is one seductive Poser model - very sultry expression.

I can empathise with that feeling - I do so little modelling that I too am both delighted and astounded when, all too rarely, something recognisable or useful actually emerges. Well done.
:+1:  :+1:

Ok. That is the nicest use of poser I have ever seen. That is a fine, lovely image. I’d like to see you do works like this where the subject is dancing. Got any like that?

why thank you…but, really in the grand scheme of things, i’m a beginner with poser…there are much finer works posted at renderosity.com
