Hello all, I am really really really having trouble with this and I searched the forumns but cant seem to find my solution. What method do you use to model eyes? I am really having trouble creating crisp eye lids. Please help!
Eyelids with an even thickness, a nice edge flow and tightly fitted to the eyeballs are easiest to set up in a normal modelling program. Get a low poly head mesh started and place a sphere where the eyeball will be on one side of the head. Create a copy of the sphere and hide the original. Rotate the visible sphere so that the polys line up nicely with where you’ll want the lids to go and then extrude part of the sphere for the upper and lower lids. Delete those parts of the sphere that you no longer need and stitch the lids to the rest of the head mesh. Make the original sphere visible to check you’ve got a nice meeting between lids and eyeball. Then either repeat for the other eye, or split the head mesh in half and mirror the eye-lidded side.
That’s one approach anyway.
Actually you could easily use the new topology feature of ZB3 to do it several people have shown such things in various threads on the forum.
Hmm, you wouldnt happen to have a link to one would you?
Search for topology, a great thread running around here. Also click on the wikki link in Zbrush.
