Modeling An Old Person's Head From A Simple Sphere - ZScript

Hi, :smiley:

I decided to make a ZScript on how to create an old person’s head from a simple sphere. Unfortunately I didn’t make ears for the model, but I saw a very good tutorial here, which was on that topic.

  1. Start the ZScript;
  2. As you go you will be requested to import a file. Select the sphere that I uploaded;
  3. Watch and observe;

You have to have base knoledge about ZBrush to understand what’s going on there.

I’m sorry, but there seems to be some small irregularities during the ZScript (I don’t know why), but the result is similar, to my images.

I really hope that is helpful and useful to you.

Thank you,

Thanks for taking the time to share this, and welcome!

I think, maybe, using a sphere with one of the poles where your character’s nose is, is making things difficult for yourself right from the start. Maybe if it had been where the character’s mouth is, the polygons would have had a more ‘natural’ flow to them. As it is, you were struggling from the word go. Don’t worry, though … it’s good to experiment with different ways of doing things.

I had to smile when you tried to draw on the model, got weird things happening, and then realised you had ‘Move’ selected instead of ‘Draw’. I do that ALL the time!

Don’t worry if this post gets moved to the Main forum … it’s more of an exhibition of what you can do and where you’re at, rather than an instructional tutorial. Just keep practicing and working at ZB and kudos for having the guts to join in with the party! :smiley:

Hello!

I played with it this afternoon. I’m such a noob. I wrestle all the time with geometry I don’t wish to move but then I don’t want to make the brush tigher either. I had to laugh about myself when you masked the area… Dohhhh… MASK sighhhhhhhhh… Learned something!

THANKS

:red_circle: Moochie :red_circle: Thanks! But When I recorded the ZScript the sphere poles were at the top of the head and the bottom of the neck. I guess some of your options in the “Preferences->ImportExport” are highlighted, and they shouldn’t in order for the good script preformence. I can imagine what was going on on the screen with pole in the frontal facial part. You can porbably see the difference of your outcome and the images I posted.

:red_circle: lemonnado :red_circle: Thanks! I’m really glad it helped!

:small_orange_diamond: If anyone is getting major odd things going on with the script tell me pls. Suggestions are also welcome.

Thank you,
