Model appeares very dark

Hello,

I’ve encountared a problem that google can’t help me fix and it’s driving me crazy. Basically a certain model appears dark…as if it’s fully masked.
I tried switching colors (pressing v)
Tried loading on a different machiene still same problem
Tried loading a different model on my machiene it was just fine.
Tried painting/dif materials
Tried adding lights
When i Shift+R it the material appears the way it should.
I think i played with almost every slider i could find. Always reseting it to it’s original state after seeing no change.
I’ve hit a wall here. Really hope you guys can help me.

Thanks in advance

Try pressing Tool>Mask>Clear

It’s not masked.
I can still work on the model. There is a very slight colour difference between masked an unmasked places. The colour’s just off.

Did you ever get a solution to this. It has happened to me. The mesh is a lot darker than the preview in the subtool menu or when I do a bpr render. It only happened last night, and it seems to be that way with everything I load.

Well, i found a workaround.
Restart Zbrush-> load polymesh3d-> put it in edit mode-> load your model. That does it for me. I asked a lot of friends but none of them seem to know what might be causing this problem.

Hope this helps.

Hmm. I deactivated, uninstalled, and am currently downloading again to reinstall. Will update if that fixes it.

That fixed it.

Man, that was not smart.
Just rotate the scene and press C multiple times.

Render > Fade Opacity fixed it for me

I know it’s an old thread, but I will leave the solution here. Just change the color of the mesh or hit a “V” key to alternate between colors.

For anyone with this issue, make sure you are using the appropriate material, I was orginially working in matcapgray on my Uni’s pc, and it was matcapred on my pc at home! Hope this helps!

Go to Light then click the sphere that controls the orientation of the lighting. Your model will no longer be dark.
