hi all!
I have a question/suggestion? that i don’t know if it’s possible to do right now. I have a simple mesh in maya, i put it in zbrush, and worked to have a finished model, then i realised that i wanted to have the uv’s done by me, not any auv or guv tiles, so i export the low res model back into maya, and i edited the uv’s of one of the sides, and i thought to export it back into zbrush, do a simmetry and in this way i’d have done both sides with the simmetry, but it looks like it doesnt do simmetry of the uv’s, just of the mesh, so is there any way that i can do the mirroring of the uv’s instead of having to do it by hand again? thanks!
Could you post examples?
thanks aurick forur reply but i managed to do it, thanks
someone asked me how i did it so i will post it here in this way if someone is interested…
The thing is that i had a low res model done in maya, and i zbrushed it, after that i realised that i didn´t have uv´s so i exported from zb to maya the lower res mesh and i did the UVs from one side, since the model was simmetric i thought i could do a mirror of the UV´s within zbrush using the simmetry but it didn´t work, so what i did then was: i went to the highest level of division (5 i think) and i exported that model from zb into maya, (that model had the left side with uvs…) after, i deleted the right part of the model and i did a simmetry of the model (all this was quite crap cos the model had quite a lot of poligons and maya was diying…) so once i had the simmetry, i welded all the vertices in the middle and i exported that mesh into a new file in zbrush ( u have to be sure that ur mesh is ALL quads and there are no holes in it ) so once in zbrush with that new mesh with 1 million poly i used the create reconstruction history ( or smthing like that…) to create lower resolutions from one model, and once i reached the resolution that i wanted, i exported back that low res model into maya, i selected the right side of the uv´s and i flipped them in maya, and exported back into zbrush…i hope that will help someone and i hope it´s clear enough to read since im spanish and not english!
