Mirroring across the canvas.

I modeled a head and then a horn. The horn is going to be duplicated and will go on both sides of the head. What is the best way to mirror something across the canvas such as below?

Thanx

Hi ChadC . . .

There’s two ways to accomplish this:

1st: After you have your object completed, place a Marker there / press the “Transform / Snapshot Object” button / Go to “Tool / Modifiers / Deformation” & press “Mirror = X” / then go back to the canvas & move the object copy on the specific axis to where you want it.

2nd: After you have your object completed, go to “Layer / Inventory” & press “Dup” / then go to “Layer / Modifiers” & select “FlipH”.

This should help you some what, you still may have to do some minor location adjustments to get the copy exactly where you want it. If you use the 2nd method, you can’t adjust the location, the object will be fixed to the canvas. I usually use the 1st method so I can still tweak the location.

Have a good one . . . Mark.

Hi
ChadC: The easiest method is what Kruzr wrote in part 2 (Thanks Kruzr :)). Simply draw you ‘right’ or ‘left’ side of the object/s, then duplicate the layer and horizontally flip the newly created layer, further more, by holding the ‘~’ key and click+drag within the canvas, you’ll be able to tweak the position of the layer and get it to be exactly where you need it to be. When done, you can simply merge the layer to become one (IMPORTANT: When merging layer, make sure the ZADD and MRGB options are pressed before merging)

No. 2.

I’ve had great success with it.

Wait a minute! That doesn’t sound right.
