Mike Jensen hard surface custom UI, anyone have this and can share?

I have found a few links to this custom UI, but they all are dead now. I am a bit frustrated with this. It really should have been included with the rest of the project files… I really wish when you bought these Training DVD’s they would give you a complete list of everything it has on it. Custom UI used in DVD should have been a given, Considering he made such a big deal out of it on his DVD.

I’m not placing Blame for this on Mr. Jensen. It really falls to the “publisher” of the video to make sure all of the necessary files are included.

After buying just one of his DVD’s, and finding all of the files are not included, makes me not want to buy any more of his videos.

Is this typical of Zbrush training DVD’s?

Can anyone who has this some where please share it? I would truly appreciate it!

Thank you very much in advanced!!

Have you tried contacting him to get the proper download link?

There is no official way to contact him. He posts here sometimes and shows off some cool stuff. I was hoping he or someone might see this and be able to help.

Do you have a pic of it? It might be easy enough to recreate (custom brushes/matcaps might be a different story)

thankfully custom brushes are included. I suppose I could try to recreate the UI from the screens in the video. I’m just a bit new to messing with the UI, never had too before.

If you got the DVD from Eat3D.com, did you try contacting their Support? Maybe they can do something for you.

I agree with you that it should have been included in the DVD.

I got the Video from CG arena, who I realized after the purchase was a 3rd party dealer. I’m not sure if Eat 3D would honor any support for Videos bought from a secondary vendor. I’m also not sure if its even fair to ask them. Mike Jensen had made a post here in ZBC and posted a link a year ago to the UI, but that Link has expired since. I was hoping either he or someone else here had it and would be able to upload it to the forum. This way I could download it from here, and anyone looking for it in the future would have access to it.

Hey there,

Sorry you were having troubles finding the UI. I definitely recommend creating your own UI using the first few videos covered in the DVDs. I personally find it more beneficial because that means you are in complete control of everything and there are no surprises =)

That being said!!! Here’s a new link I’ve uploaded so you can download my current UI within r3:

http://mikejensen.veegie.com/extras/MJ-UI.zip

It contains both my UI and my hotkey setup, should you want to use that as well.
Hope that helps and keep on rocking!

Mike

Thank you Mike, I really appreciate it. I am learning hoe to modify the UI. But I’m still very new to the concept. I tend to get overwhelmed with Zbrush’s many features. Being a hobbyist I find it hard to find Tutorials that fit an intermediate level. I am going to subscribe to Ryan Kingslien’s website, Zbrush Workshop. I am hoping he has a good line of skill level progressive videos. I am also going to buy your Hard surface sculpting 2, Video. I am enjoying your first one. Might I recommend, in your Future Video Releases, that you use a keyboard key showing device. You know, those small programs that pop up and show the watcher of the video which keys your are typing as you work? This way, we can see what hot keys you are using. I think as a professional, you like many others using these keys as 2’nd nature and understandingly forget, we the novices are still learning those.
