Mica - Demo Character Thread

In 2 weeks I am teaching at Maryland Institute for their short summer game development class. I am going to be teaching texturing and simple rendering techniques. My usual style when I do demos down there is to take a student’s piece and demo on that whatever technique I’ll be showing that night but this time since I am teaching 5 nights in a row, I wanted to make a character of my own. I just started sculpting last night to see where it would take me so I am posting first 2 hours of ZBrush progress in the high to low pipeline. Those floppy things on the side of her head are big rolled up pigtail type things and as far as her costume goes, she’s going to be heavily cloaked with draping cloth and metal in there so I can show the students how to attack different material types. I will post more progress as I finish the model for the demo. Any feedback or critique is most welcome. Thanks!

My second two hours on this piece. I am going to start blocking in the body on my next sitting. Any comments?

Thanks!

Hey Chris, looks really great so far. I think it has very good form and proportions. :+1: :+1:
I might suggest to add a little more expression in her face, but I’m sure you will get to that once this starts getting more refined. Not much else to crit right now, but I would definitely enjoy seeing the progression of this as you go through teaching the class. Looks fun.
