when i extract a mesh… the edges of the mesh are covered with spikes… is there a way of preventing this?
Can you explain how you are doing the Mesh Extract?
i started with a cube, and then pressed control to select an area to extract… it seems to happen no matter what… the smaller the object is divided prior to the extraction, there are just more smaller spikes
Although I can’t reproduce this exactly, I think that the problem is to do with the ‘poles’ of the Cube3D. If you use the PolyCube.ztl (that you can load from the ZBrush/ZTools folder) as a starting point I think you should get better results. (It’s already a polymesh and you can sculpt it right off.)
If this doesn’t help, please post a picture of your mask before doing the extract, with polyframes switched on (Shift + F) so that we can get a better idea of what’s happening.
HTH,
i took 3 screen shots… and this is using the poly cube you recomended… the last shot is a close up of the spikes i was talking about
thank you again in advance

Are you using ZBrush 3.12? If so, this is an issue that has been reported before and is being looked at.
