Hello! I’m wondering if this is just a common ZBrush quirk or if there is any way to optimize/fix this behavior that mesh edges gets cut off for a bit when zooming/rotating around it. It’s nothing deal-breaking but an annoyance nonetheless. Video of what I’m referring to is linked below. Thanks in advance!
Hi @Strubey
I’ve never noticed this in all my years of Zbrushing. However I just confirmed it happens to me too when I rapidly move a mesh so all my thoughts of hardware, polygon count etc vanished. You can try messing around with Preferences:Performance settings but nothing I tried made a difference. I have a good PC so I’m guessing it’s a refresh rate issue when rapidly moving a model, regardless of size. Recall that Zbrush does not use a GPU for rendering. All renders are software renders with the CPU. The “blanking” might be a way to reduce render time. The amount of blanking seems to depend on the size and speed of the movement. Anyway, given time, you won’t notice it I guess.
Happy Zbrushing.
Thanks for the reply! Good to know it’s not my system and just a ZBrush quirk I guess.
Just wanted to add I found out the cause/solution. I was using a 60hz monitor and when I switched to a 144/165hz monitor the issue got resolved.
