Merging subtools without loosing subdivision level

Hi

I have two subtools in my model which they don’t contain any triangles and both have 6 subdivide.

When I merge them I would lose sudivision history and even if I delete lower subdivisons and merge them then try to reconstruct subdivison, it show that Zbrush is unable to do that, what is the reasson?

Thanks

Bump, really need solution for this

Take a look at this tutorial: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rnC9sh5ikYU

Thanks man for reply, The technique that he is using would leave a mess at parts which are not that visible, like if he hide the new object with projection there would be a bump on his forhead, because the distance is little and projection would get confused, and if let say something more complex like a shoe, there would be a mess all over the mesh.

what I need is to avoid projecting but keeping the subdivision during the merging process, in lots of cases I can do that without problem, but sometimes it just doesn’t work and I can’t understand why.

I will upload sample files tonight.

I somehow find the problem, but not the solution, so here is a simple file with 5 subdivides, If you go to highest divide and delete lower divides, and try to reconstruct subdiv, it shows that the process is not successful, why?

So when I merge them this subtool would be the problem.

Bump again :frowning:

Please someone take a look at my file, It is a 3 years problem unsolved

Bump again, still stuck with it
