My goal here is to ultimately create UV’s in UVlayout of my character model and transfer my low res model into substance painter baking all of my high res textures in substance painter. To do this I need UV’s for a merged tool file with all of the subdivisions so that I can export both a low res and a high res of the same file with the same UV’s. Now the model I’m working on has several subtools all with different subdivision levels. If I merge as is, I lose divisions on my high res subtools and no longer have my LR. Now to my understanding If all of the subtools are brought up to the same subdivision level the model should merge no problem but for some reason when I merge all it brings my whole model to 2 subdivisions rather than 5 and I know for a fact all of the subtools are at the same subdiv level after checking several times. The same issue happens when I merge down one by one. Im not sure if this is a polycount issue, I tried messing with polygroups and thought perhaps there was a limit but to no avail. If there is a more efficient way of making this happen please let me know ASAP.
