Merging multiple 3D scanned hands

Hi,

We are looking for expertise to help us understand if Zbrush is suited for this project.

We will 3D scan 100 hands that will be sorted by size.

Is it possible with Zbrush to merge/fuse all hands from one size group in oder to model one hand? This hand should be representative of all the hands in that size group.

Thanks for you input!

Yes, you can use Zbrush to fuse or weld the overlapping geometry of any meshes, but–

3d Scanning tends to produce garbage topology that may require a lot of clean up work. I don’t know anything about your project, but it’s possible it will entail much more work than you imagine, up to and including rebuilding the individual meshes. If you merge a bunch of different overlapping meshes, the result is likely to be pretty ugly, requiring quite a bit of clean up as well.

It strikes me as being much more straightforward for a skilled artist to simply model the hand to scale.
