I am will keep it simple. I work mainly in Lightwave aswell as zbrush. I am working on a project that reqiures me to use maya at the moment. In lightwave if I need my uv’s to match my object when ever I smooth/subpatch my object. Its as simple as going to the map tab>uv interpolation> and changing the “linear” setting to the “across discontinuous points” or “subpatch” settings. So is there a way to accomplish this in maya??? Someone please help? LOL
I dont think u can smooth out ur UVs in maya .Maya doesnt treat UV and vertexes the same way .Infact i have never seen this before man lightwave is cool ! …
I do understand that in maya if you select the mesh and press 3 this smooths the mesh with “smooth mesh preview” which smooths the mesh and makes the edges smooth but the uv stay curved as again its just a preview of the smooth mesh. But im still lost when it comes to smoothing the actual uv’s to match.
cool…thanks for the reply. If you get a chance check it out lightwave has so much to offer. Where i use to work 80% of everything was done in Lightwave and then rendered out in maya.
