Maya Mac won't import obj...

Hi,
This is my first post. I have looked everywhere… no success.
I have zbrush2 on a Mac osX (10.3) platform and Maya 6.1 on the same Mac osX.

When I export from Zbrush (tool / export / obj) on the os X, I am not able to import the model into Maya. It seems to have something to do with the format of the text file for the .obj.
Maya requires Unix files and Zbrush Mac export the file in a slightly different formatting on the mac and this is said to be the problem.
I tried resaving the file with UNIX option in BBedit, and no success. I also was able to import a zbrush file from another platfrom I found on this site into my Mac Maya first attemps!
so it has to do with the Mac version for sure.

Any help will be greatly appreciated!
I am really stuck and want desperately to use Zbrush with Maya.This software is just sooooo amazing (ZB)!!!

I had the same problem getting The .OBJ that ZBrush generates into Wings on my Mac. OSX.3.7.
By changing the capitals by highlighting them and typing .obj worked.
Maybe this will work.

I reported this a couple weeks back too. I ended up sending my model to the developer of Wings3D so he could assess and fix the problem. He was able to find a bug in Wings and now they work.

I was wondering if ZB was writing a different code ending that some apps (just as you seggest) don’t interpret properly. You may want to send a test ZB2 model to some people at Alias to test it out.

I tried to modify the obj from OBJ, but it didn’t work. The model opens in Fcheck now… (after resaving in a text editor and modifying the extension)

I will try to report it as a bug at Alias… but I know they are aware of the problem, because the solution is posted for the Platinum members. (this membership is to expensive for me though)
I will let you know what their feedback is.

i havent hada problem, im under os 10.3.5 cuz 10.3.6 messed up maya for me. is 10.3.7 fine?, cuz i havent upgraded cuza taht. I have problems with Zbrush and maya seing my lightwave UV’s when i export objs. but im pretty sure its a LW issue.
