maya baking chrome shader

Is it possible to bake a Chrome maya shader into a texture map.
For ex. I have a polygon mesh with UVs, I assigned a chrome shader to the mesh.

I would like the chrome baked into a texture map. (I know its a fake and won’t be dynamic but that is ok)

Does anyone have any steps for doing this? Perhaps there are steps with the Xfer maps feature?

To be specific, I need chrome in a 2d texture map able to be assigned to a mesh for games.

Thanks for any help

Im personally not a maya user but i guess the principles are the same.

Chrome only exists through reflections without them it would only
be a constant colour like a white wall.

What you want to look for in google is how to bake reflections in maya.

Then u apply a chrome shader to your model and set a hdri as enviorment for it.

Now when u bake out the reflections u will have a chrome look.

Im guessing tho without being dynamic the chrome effect will be hard to notice.
