Materials loading problem

Hello,
I updated my pc into new amd (ryzen) platform 2 weeks ago.
Everything works perfectly fine. It’s faster than before etc. Something happened with materials. Everytime I switch between material, I have to wait untill it’s applied on geometry. When I work on modifiers like cavity, specular (everything), I have to wait for apply. It’s like 2-3s freeze everytime

I tried everything - previous gpu drivers.
Problem still appear.

Did I have something set before? Something that make it faster? But hey… even on simple cube I have to wait ;/
I am writing to find out if anyone has encountered a similar problem. Maybe it’s because of windows update?

It’s becasue of Preview Render Maps Details Levels value set to 3. On 1 (default? http://docs.pixologic.com/reference-guide/render/render-properties/For quick renders or quick LightCap creation, keep the default setting of 1”)

So I set it to 1 and store config. It’s back to 3. Why?

in this thread we are suspecting new amd chips not working with zbrush. or vice versa.

As I said, changing Preview Render Maps Details Levels to 1, solve the problem for me. At least with materials.

  1. Does the problem persist after upgrading to 4R8?

  2. Do you experience any other problems mentioned by other ryzen users?
    (light placement - similar lag to your matcap lag; anything else?)

1 I havent upgrade zbrush to 4R8 yet.
2 I have lag problem while light placement, but when I set Details to 1 it’s ok

I’ve been told by a Pixologic mod on twitch chat that the ryzen issues should be fixed in 4R8.
Don’t want to give you false hope in case this bug is more complicated and resistant to the fix.

Let us know how it goes when you do update.
