Material deleted

Hi, I was trying to see if by saving a material, it would also load the color it was saved with.

And by uploading the new material in the current project I’m using, it replaced the Reflective red material.

Is there anyway to load it back?, I tried it by pressing ‘Reset’ in the material menu, but didn’t work.

I wonder if there’s a possible scenario where saving a material would be useful or if there’s a possible way to load an external material too?

Cheers!

Materials in ZBrushCore (and ZBrush) are arranged in “slots”. What this means is that if you load in a material it will be put into the slot of the selected material, replacing it. (This way of doing things goes right back to the beginnings of ZBrush as a hybrid 2D & 3D program.)

You can add to the total number of materials by saving the material to the ZStartup/Materials folder. It will then be available each time you start ZBrushCore. At present there’s no way to modify materials in ZBrushCore but this might change in the future, or new materials be made available.

Materials are stored with the project. To restore the ReflectRed material in your project:

  1. Make sure you have the correct material (the one you loaded in) selected in the Material palette.
  2. Press the Material>Load button and navigate to the ZBrushCore/ZData/Materials/MatCap folder.
  3. Select the ReflectRed.ZMT file and press OK.

HTH,

Yes, it worked very well, thank you Marcus!
