Material colorize question

Hi all,
i’ve a question about paint over a material.
Here my workflow:
:large_orange_diamond: Chose an object(1)
:large_orange_diamond: assign a material(2)
:large_orange_diamond: put on the canvas(2)
:large_orange_diamond: (3)with a tool like paintbrush i would make some small dot in another color (blue)then i use only the rgb information onto the material
Doesn’t work for me, i’ve tried many brush or change the intensity or color or material…nothingh.
 Is possible make color change over a material or not?
Thx for reply
Bye

I am affraid that you must make a “skin” before!
Material can’t be directly painted !
It’s a procedural material not a texture !
Pilou
ps Of course a material can change of color in his regulate but it’s not that you want !

Hi Marciani, add to Frenchy comment…you can make a 3Dplane with that material, grab to alpha, pic up the alpha on to your model inflat it with base color and then PM¡
Hope this help
Andreseloy

Hi hi Andre
yes, but now it’s no more a material, it’s became a texture
Pilou

Hi Marciani…
In your model I think that is your material witch overlaps color because you have the yellow color into your material may be the diffuse color.
anyway you can use any differents material on your model , just do a copy of your current material and change de diffuse color (blue for you) and paint.

but better result is to work within Texturemaster (Projection master now)

look here and watch the too way to mix too materials Mentat7 script and Aurick demonstration.

ps: Pilou you can paint with material in edit mode…

Thank’s for reply Andreseloy and other
:large_orange_diamond: To Pilou: What do you mean “skin”
:large_orange_diamond: To Fouad: I’ve seen your links, but i don’t understand somethingh.
If i chose a basic material, and after with a copy of this in another color i paint only rgb, it’s run ok, but if i changed another material (Reptile skin or wood or metal), does’nt work.
If i put a sphere with wood material and then i put on the canvas, ther is no way to paint a color over the wood, or you can do this only in Projection Master.

Then if understand (because is not possible to be so complicated), i think you can paint over a material only vith a basic material.
If i’ve say somethingh wrong, tell me the right way

if i understand you correctly…you added a material as a base material…then used PM to color using rgb? or not even PM…colorize?

then I believe yes…in order to change any parts or the texture material etc…you need to use PM…just like we did in 1.55…only now we have a choice to add color depth to the model at the same time.

watch the scripts…they are very good in this regard.

These steps works for me with Spherical blend material.

  1. Select sphere3d and draw it on canvas
  2. enter edit mode and choose spherical blend material
  3. Press fill object (color palette)
  4. Set rgb on
  5. Now select another color and paint over object…

Some material (like gradiant map) do not allow to draw color unless you change the intensity value on S1 channel.

Hope this helps

Hi leo
By “skin” I mean make a polymeshes unified skin
Pilou
Ps But Fouad was right
Here that I found
:small_orange_diamond: You draw your 3D object with his material
:small_orange_diamond: In TMaster you drop it
:small_orange_diamond: Flat Material Single Layer Brush texture off
:small_orange_diamond: You colorize what you want
:small_orange_diamond: You Pick
:small_orange_diamond: You don’t see the result because Material go return !
But now if you press Basic Material your changement appear :sunglasses:
Hope is more clear

Thx guys
I’ll try after
