Matcap Glacier

Hello everyone. Just wanted to show a glacier Matcap that I am working on for a piece. Not there just yet. Wanted to get feedback. I fell that there may be to much blue, however I still have to do snow and that will bring in some white.

Looking good! I really like the subtle color and texture variation. Get a little translucency in there around the edges and I think you’ve got it

that looks great, i like the blue in it…:+1:

That blue color is absolutely accurate for a glacier. It has to do with the extremely fine particulates suspended in the ice, and the way that they absorb the lower wavelengths of light.

Man, you should see glacier water sometime. It’s stunning to see a river of the stuff.

Those renders look beautiful. What are they for? Hopefully a scene your working on

That is one fancy looking matcap! Nice work

Yeah I remember the stuff in Iceland; beautiful blue, but goes through you like drain cleaner because it has superfine mica particulate suspended in it.

Great matcap!

where can i get it

It is in the MAtCap Library: http://www.pixologic.com/zbrush/downloadcenter/library/

It is in the Shiny Library. It’s under Paul Gaboury

Cool, thank you.
