I’ve wanted something like this for a while and the release of the wonderful Material Pack2 prompted me to sort out the thing and release it. Pressing the button shows the 75 material slots with the materials listed by name. Materials that have been used on the canvas are shown highlighted.
Mat Slots will enable you to:
Keep a tab on your materials by name.
See at a glance which materials you’ve used on the canvas.
Quickly locate an unused material slot before loading a material from disk (such as from the MaterialPack2).
INSTALLATION:
Unzip the zip file to your ZStartup\ZPlugs folder (…\ZBrush2\ZStartUp\ZPlugs).
You may need to create the ZPlugs folder if you have a new installation of ZBrush.
Restart ZBrush and you will find a new button “Mat Slots” in the Materials palette. You can Ctrl+drag the button to where you want and store the setting (Ctrl+Shift+I).
UPDATE: revised version which should work fine on Mac and PC.
I hope you find MatSlots useful.
