Masking only visible part of model

Hello!

I have 2 subtools. One overlaps the over.
I would like to mask the area of the one subtool that isn’t obscured by the the other subtool.
This didn’t work for me. Perhaps I forgot to set any settings.

I have created an image with screenshots to demonstrate the problem.

Thank you for the help!hat1.jpg

Mark Ornament subtool as Start of boolean.
Create a duplicate of the hat subtool and move it below Ornament subtool. Set this as subtractive boolean.

Use ‘live boolean’ to see the preview.
‘Make boolean mesh’ will make this preview into a new ztool.

2nd method is Remesh by Union.
If you’re not going need hat and ornament as separate subtools again, this will be easier.

Thank you very much.
That worked.
