Masking Help - Selecting Additional Areas without changing to Polymesh

Hello folks!

I’m trying to mask out the center circles of the end of the cylinder, but I keep getting the message for making it a Polymesh. I don’t want to do that at this time as my intent is to mask and then use the Deformation option to modify my object. In the tutorial I’m following, they don’t have this issue of masking off this area in addition to what’s already been masked. Any ideas?

There’s no reason not to make that a Polymesh.
You can certainly use any deformations after making it a polymesh3D.

The “mask by alpha” function on primitives is handy, but pretty limited.

…that being said, you could just invert your mask to get the centers.
