Masking both sides of the model, ALWAYS??

How do you force ZBrush to mask only the facing polygons?

I can’t seem to remember this being an issue with ZBrush 3

Why does ZBrush 4 always mask the opposing side of my model?
It is slowing me down having to hide the back faces every time I want to mask because my models
are quite curved and organic.

You can Use Brush: Automasking: Backface with mask pen to avoid it masking both sides.

The other masking brushes don’t work with this though. One workaround would be to use Texture Map: New from Masking to convert your current mask to a texture, drop it down with projection master, and use drag rect + black rgb. Pick it back up and convert the result to a mask.

Sometimes it’s faster just to use mask_rec, rotate the view and unmask what you don’t want.
