Mask By Intensity - Texture Resolution?

Is there a limit to what the resolution can be for textures used to ‘Mask by Intensity’?

I have tried to create masks with several different textures in the 3000x3000 range and have no problem applying them to my object, but as soon as I click ‘Mask by Intensity’, ZB3.5R3 crashes. I don’t have this problem when using the standard textures.

Maybe it’s the format of my textures?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I had no problem just now with a 4096x4096 texture. I also had no trouble with a 3000x3000 texture. It may be a problem with the texture itself.

I am having this problem with several textures, from different sources. I even had the same problem with an 870 x 870 texture. I am able, however, to convert the textures to alphas and then ‘mask with alpha’ which is fine for what I need to do.
