Mask by Features : Question or it's not working.... [Solved]

Hi. I’m up and running with the latest ZBrush, trying out Mask by Features.

My model is a piece of cloth with some holes in it, basically a modified polygon grid imported to ZBrush. I want to mask off the border edges, so that the holes and the outer edges become protected so that I can paint in that area without pushing these edges. I was hoping the new button was a one button push fix for this task.

If this isn’t what the new toolset “Mask by Features” is for or capable of, please let me know how to use this new feature properly so I can understand it better. Otherwise, why might this not be working/how might I fix it?

Thanks.

Alright I figured it out after some trial and error with a simpler test model. The mask on my model showed up as so thin, that it was only the outer edge of the mask which is partially blurred and doesn’t fully protect and with just that little bit you couldn’t see it nor see it’s impace under a strong brush. have to grow the mask a few times after using the operation, so everything working… thanks
