Marvel Zooniverse Spider-Ham Comic Art

Hi, I wanted to make a thread here where I could post my art and get feedback. First up is a series of images that are part of my comic book proposal entitled “Marvel Zooniverse”. The concept of the comic was to parody the origins and stories of the Marvel Universe using the funny super animals that inhabit Spider-Ham’s world. I created 3 covers and wrote and illustrated a 10 page sequential story telling Iron Mouse’s origin. I used Zbrush, Maya, Photoshop and Illustrator to create the art. I have wanted to use Zbrush to create comic art and it ended up working out well. Critiques are more than welcome. Thanks!

I really like the subtler color scheme of the Iron Mouse cover. Nice work! :+1:

Thanks!, I was going for a retro type of look.

how cool

God! How long did this project take you? Must have taken forever to pose the characters for all those panels.

It took about 6 months part time to finish up all ten pages and 3 covers. It was a new process for me so it took a little bit longer to get used to everything, but Zbrush makes things a lot easier. The covers only take about a week each. The interior pages are what take so long.

What do you guys think of Disney buying Marvel?

Actually, it was a Jack Kirby cover, which Ditko inked. You’re right, though, that Spiderman was a Ditko creation. About he only character NOT touched by Kirby, at that point in time.

You’re right it was a Kirby-Ditko collaboration.
