Well, this is my take on this popular bodies in motion reference.
Really a great resource for studying.
Wow! I must say, you nailed it!
I’m curious on a few things:
-
How long did it take to you to model it?
-
Did render in keyshot or any other external app?
-
Is it dynamesh or you did a retopology and subdivided to sculpt?
Great work!
Hi Brazucka, thank you very much.
I guess in total it took me close to 50h.
In the beginning I was progressing quickly and most stuff was early in place.
But the subtle changes and refining the volumes over and over again took a while and was a tedious process. It’s my second BIM study. The first one I did was too difficult at the time and I worked more hours on it without reaching a satisfying result and abandoned it in the end. With more practise it should be a lot faster I guess.
I used redshift for rendering for the first time. So I was also studying a different render engine.
I started with a basic zsphere armature and stayed in dynamesh mode for quite some time.
Maybe a bit too long because I needed a pretty high resolution mesh for the fingers etc. A high resolution dynamesh isn’t that great for smoothing and rounding out forms though.
So I decided to do a basic zremesher retopology and polish it up from there on.
For use in redshift I used the decimation master.
Well done Frix! Did you take Scott Eaton’s class or your own references?
Either way top notch small_orange_diamond

Thank you Jamie, appreciated.
I haven’t taken scott’s class yet but I’m thinking about it.
Though I subscriped to his website to have access to those beautiful references
