Make web with ZB

hi for this new one I’d like to show you my try to make a web interface with ZB.
Those image are 90% ZB and 10 %PS…
thx for comments

here is the index page the second one follow…

Happy zbrushing

Great composition I like more the second one.
Congratulations
Andreseloy

Hi Ramses
Great images!
But for a web site, one more time letters are completly unreadable !
Users can’t know where pressed something !
If you make a web site it’s for show something and take the more easy way for the users to navigate!
So more clear is the interface more great is the pleasure to surf
It’s my own opinion
Pilou
Ps It is the normal size of the interface?

ca tape !!! :+1: :+1: :+1:
I think you could animate some lines with flash by putting your image in backgroung.
For exemple, you can animate the white lines, it’s easy doing this in flash.I m not totally ok with Pilou because this image is only backgroung image and some texts buttons can be added over the picture(on the left) to navigate clearly.

Go there (Zbc Community Forum) for a recent enlighting discussion of this subject  Flash or not flash etc…
Pilou

A+
c etait la philoweb du soir

It looks good, BUT… I’m 100% with Pilou’s first reply. The object of a web intro page is to make navigation simple, and the text is difficult to read. Also, as a 56K modem user, I would be unlikely to wait for a full-screen background image to load, so unless the link to a page I wanted was quickly obvious from the Alt-text, I would most likely leave the site without ever seeing the graphic or any of the content. Same feelings about the Flash suggestion - takes ages to load (even if you don’t have a Flash player installed, you still have to wait for it to load before being asked if you want to donwload the player) and in my opinon I have seen relatively few non-game sites where it actually adds something meaningful to the experience.

So that’s my recipe for a home page. Clear text, straightforward navigation, lightweight graphics and no unnecessary gimmicks that add to the download time. I think this applies even for a graphics site. It’s one thing viewing thumbnails and choosing from them which images you want to see at full size, but quite another having to wait for a full-screen graphic to load just to get into the site. I’m sure there are broadband users out there who may take a different view, but for the many of us not in that position life is too short for slow-loading pages.

hi you’re all absoluty right it’s maybe a little confused for a web site but in 1024x768 the text will be very easy to read.
I’m gonna work this in flash, perhaps I have to work it twice in two different resolutions to be sure that 56k modem can load the animation in less than 20s.
I do think as Curo concerning the way you organise one site i don’t need an heavy preparation for the navigation and i appreciate this complicated interface even if some people don’t feel confortable with…
thx for your comments, i’ll post the link to the definitive version soon.
Happy zbrushing

Just for exemple you can have an overview at http://stand_art.hosteur.com/

Hi Ramses
Your last adress above example is false  :frowning: (bad gate away)
As for flash that is 20 second to lost
Is flash necessary ?
As the MtB site(previous post above discussion), a visitor probably go away before the complete loading!
There are so many site to see than waiting is time losting!!!
Pilou

That’s right i’ll do another optimised version
but the link seems to work i don’t understand
:frowning:

Always Bad Gate Away !
C’est “bizarre” comme adresse!
Pilou

Hi Curo

CSS, XHTML for me please.

Hi Fouad
“Qui aime bien, châtie bien”
Pilou
Ps Et j’aime mieux les images fixes, on a le temps d’apprécier

I do not know much of what was said in here because I do not speak French.

But as a person who has spent a lot of time surfing, I do not like flash unless it is for a card that I am sending someone (and then it had better be an extraordinary card). I have little patience for WAITING

The letter I agree have to be larger, and there has to be a place to select a language (I leave places immediately if I am not given a chance to select English as a langage, because I have no idea where a button is going to take me).

Next, and this is just a thought, but on the index page that blue spheres could be used as buttons to navigate thru your site. I think that would be cool.

But as a surfer who surfs with search button, and uses the go back button a lot, I have to agree that this thing cannot take too long to download, or I will go on and select the next item that matched my search, and bypass yours altogether.

The second (index) graphic is so beautiful, is there no way to make this the opening page with the index right there handy?

Just some thoughts.

But your images are very beautiful, it would be a shame for others to miss all because of downloading time :frowning:

I also would definitely put code in that would not allow a person to click right and take your images. I think all artists should protect their stuff this way.

Many blessings

Hi Kitty
It’s quasi impossible to protect an image! (time losting again in futile programation)
Just click on the “print” button of your keyboard = Snapshot the screen in the buffer
so you can past it in any “drawing program” and so copy any image !
Pilou

Sorry about speaking in french Kitty, I won’t do that again .You’re right it’s international forum so let’s speak in international way.

To conclude , before using flash for your website, ask yourself :“do I realy need vectorial animation in my Website”
if yes, make a good use of flash but like Fouad said it can add another dimension to your work if well used so please don’t banish it.
