MAJOR Zsketch issue plz help - probabaly simple answer.

I’ve got a huge problem.
When I have my zsphere marionette set up and am ready to use zketch zspheres 2… whenever i draw on the zspheres2, they are always HUGE… and I can’t get tiny preciion ones… or any other size for that matter… how can i change the size of the zspheres2 i am applying in zsketch?

this is driving me mad… mainly because i figured it out one time and administered the most ultimate face palm to le moi - as the answer was completely simple.

plz help … anyone awake right now?

i’ve foun

d that my brush rings (cursor graphic) is BLUE… what does this mean… and how can i get it back to being RED… so that i may change my brush size for y zspheres??? thanx

blue means that shift is held down.

have you restarted Zbrush? It might think shift is locked or you might have sticky keys turned on.

I was just running into something like this but my cursor was not blue.
What I had was my brush size while trying to use Zspheres in ZSketch mode was that I could not resize my brush at all, this happens with 2.5D stuff as well so I tried the same fix which is this:

  1. Save what ever you are working on.
  2. Turn off Edit.
  3. Hit Control N (this clears the canvas most of the time).
  4. Draw the star object from the tool menu.
  5. Turn on edit.
  6. Move it around to make sure you actually hit Edit (surprisingly important).
  7. Turn edit off.
  8. Hit Control N again.
  9. Try to remember what the heck you were doing in the first place.
  10. Reload your original project.
  11. Turn Edit back on.
  12. Hit Shift A.
  13. Suppress anger.
  14. Go back to work in on your project.

The interesting thing is if you had shift stuck down you would have been smoothing your stuff not adding new stuff I think…
Honestly not sure on that, I failed at step 9 and step 12 and am off doing something else.
When I hold down shift my cursor does indeed turn blue, but it acts as it should, smoothing the Zspheres, also I AM able to resize my brush with it held down.
Try what I did above but avoid 9 and 12, they are project killers!
GRIN!

Cheers!

no no … you’re right but not applying to my problem…mine w

as LIGHT BLUE… not the dark blue shift - smooth one… should have said that…

but i found out what the problem was after a day’s worth of internet research… blaaah…

it was that i had a CURVE existing on the subtool i was on.

not that i was IN cure mode (because i wasn’t ) … but that there was a curve there… an invisible one.
so i just went to the Stroke menu and turned on curve mode and pressed “delete” under ‘curve falloff’ in that same menu… then turned off curve mode and all went back to normal… no more light blue brush cursor… and all my control back.

this was REALLY driving me up the wall… to the point where i didn’t want to use zbrush anymore… i mean you couldn’t even change the size of your zsketch zspheres…

anyway… anyone who finds this in the distant future… this is what the deal is… hope you find this post!
