Hello,
Is there a way to add an image to a model (by using the texture brush/projection), unwrap the model and the image will not loose from its’ quality and size?
so far my experience shows a big reducing in the image size and quality…
how can i avoid it?
thank you
You have to have a dense mesh. Try subdividing your mesh.
well, actually there is no problem adding the texture to the model the problem is with the uv unwrapping and sending it over to photoshop which really reduces the texture image size and quality.
The quality of the image will depend on the map size that you set in the Tool>UV Map sub-palette.
thank you for that! i actually took it up t0 4096- do you think that if it was larger it would have been better?
Well, it depends on your UVs. These things affect the image quality:
- When projecting an image onto a model as polypaint, the number of polygons the model has (the more the better).
- When creating a texture map from polypaint, the size of the texture map and the quality of the UVs. If the UVs are such that the image is only a small part of the actual map then the quality will be less.
HTH,
i will keep that in mind!! thank you!
