Well, I am trying to finish my flash site and concluded that I must start over. Mostly because I hate the current colors. It also needs a more graphic atmosphere/interface.
This is the new test colors and a slight modification to the current entrance page. This is the current color scheme and very unfinished.
Comments and crits would be welcome (good or bad).
One more thing…can someone test and tell me if the preloader works. I have highspeed so I can’t even see it go by.

What is the interest of a flash presentation?
Out the fact that is fine design.
For intensive surfers it’s a waste of time!
(the intro are always needless)
And the version of the player is never the good one) and sometime crashed system)
On not always very comprehensive, where clic, how go to the previous/next page, plan of the site, etc…
A simple classical static show is most of the time very more effective.

Flash and No Flash
Flash for movies films or animations yes, for presentation in the actual step of technic it’s not absolute necessity (on my point of view of course

Thanks frenchy.I know…this is just for color testing. I will have both an html and a flash site. As for why, well because I am a graphic artist and feel the need to have an attractive, interactive, and modern representation of myself and my artwork. Its a long time from finished.

This is the feeling I get from you flash presentation. When I first enter the page I get a cluttered feeling which makes me want to leave…you should really find different hosting to clear the advertisments.
Second if your really serious about presenting your image on the net you must hybridise your design. At the moment it looks like a flash presentation rather then a place where we can see your working which creates some confusion in my mind as to why I’m really visiting.Also found that navigation is not clear ,it is a distraction from more imporant things like your work ,to pay attention on how to navigate. If you choose to change the rules of normal sight navigation you must pay extra efforts to makeing it very userfriendly interms of interest visual appeal and confort and in this case I don’t have that feeling. You mentioned the color…I think you should decide on a layout before deciding color. If your going to use black you need to excite us , by designing a page that has a mixture of composited images of your work and text…black has the effect of luring a person to look deaper , shows your depth as an artist. But it does’nt have that kick that say white might have. So you need to compensate for that to first show us that you can do something , so that it will wok with the black and now we can see “You can do something and you can much more.”
White on the other hand, which I prefer is a much more modest approach, “I can , but hey come and have a look and decide for your self”…its exciting becuase its bright so getd your attention, so keep the interface very simple not to get confused. This is my opinion and not the The rules, so do what you like. Also I hope I did’nt offend you in some way, just trying to be honost with you :).
I think its a very good idea bringing 3d into flash, but 100k for that animation I think is too much…you need to work on optomising the size of the 3d .

re: fonts – the cuneiform is cool, but the cross-in-circle font is dated even among Celts and perhaps even Goths – but I have only seen it in red, black or white before – maybe in the blue-green part of the spectrum it would be refreshed
re: cooler color scheme (in the sense of more bluish), check out the schemes of Stephan Martiniere, Ryan Church and Nicholas Roerich
I agree with Frenchy about the Flash intro – Flash can be used unobtrusively, e.g. www.tracktion.com – but if it’s an obstacle and people have to wait, modem or broadband, they might just walk on by – I assume you are promoting yourself as an artist and not just a web designer with Flash skills 
Have a look at the websites of your favorite pro artists and see how they operate regarding wait-time, number of clicks to get somewhere, etc. – I have seen one or two that just did it wrong – dark text on black background – too many levels of clicking, etc.
MTB, you have talent and know how to do stuff – please don’t put obstacles in the way of people who might think “I like this guy’s work – let’s hire him for this project” :ex:
