Mac + wacom touch strip + draw size

Hi,

I’m a new member on ZBrush, hence on this forum too.
I’ve just bought a wacom with touch strip and i’m wanting to configure them with ZBrush.

For the right one there’s no problem, it let me zoom in/out (thanks to the forum for shortcuts)

My problem is that i want to use the left one to change the draw size of my brush. What i’ve found on this forum is that [ and ] should be the shortcuts…
But well on my Mac [ = ALT+SHIFT+( and this doesnt seems to work…
Does someone knows the shortcuts on Mac ?

Thank you (for the answer, and most of all for this terrible site)

I too am searching for this exact function. I’ll keep an eye on this thread - or post when I come up with news.

In 3.1 on the PC, the bracket signs do this. One makes the draw size smaller, the other larger.

I’m emailing support to include a shortcut on the keyboard in the update, then we can program our wacom tablet strips to coincide with the key.

If I understand this correctly, you want the same current functionality but on the left side also?

OSX 10.5 + Wacom Intuos here.

Try the script here:

Be sure to set the hot keys! I use “{” and “}”

I then map these to my touch strip.

Need the script for 3.12 zbrush for mac. (I tried it anyway but it didnt work)
Thanks for trying though

Odd–it works fine on two of my macs running 3.12 and Wacom Cintiqs (12wx, 21ux).

Make sure “Brush-Up-Down.zsc” is in /Applications/ZbrushOSX 3.12/Startup/Zplugs.

You should then have in Zplugins under Misc Utilities “BR<<” and “BR>>” buttons, as well as a slider. Set the slider to “4” for starters.

With a mouse (don’t use the Cintiq Pen) try assigning Shift and the plus key to one, and shift and the minus key to the other. Check that the new hot keys are working.

Save the hotkey configuration!

In the Wacom control-panel, assign the Shift-Plus and Shift-Minus to the touch strip.

This is currently working for me on my MacPro and MacbookPro running the native version of ZB 3.12.

I need to read directions better
I downloaded version B that Marcus made.
Everything is working great now.

Thanks for the help

The default installation of version 3.12 has <<Brush and Brush>> buttons in the Zplugin>Misc Utilities menu. They just don’t have hotkeys assigned.

Ctrl+click on one and then (without moving the pointer off the button) press whatever shortcut you want. When you have set the shortcuts, click Preferences>Hotkeys>Save to store the settings. Once that’s done, you can assign the hotkeys to the tablet.

Hi Aurick,

Tried the built-in's initially on our Cintiqs. Unfortunately, the step size of the built-in buttons isn't adjustable, so Marcus's script is a much better solution because you can control the responsiveness to the touch strip with the step slider. :D

Initially I looked for this function (under brush, stroke, etc) and I could not find it. The location (plugins/misc) wasn’t a logical guess for me

I downloaded the zbrush manual (3.12 adendum) .pdf - and searched for key/hotkey/shortcut, etc and I could not find the location of those default buttons.

Good to know now though.

Oh and btw, now that I am running natively on a mac, is there a place I can download the full 3.1 manual .pdf? I found only the .exe download ‘help documentation’ that is for a windows machine.

thanks
